This was a satisfying morning at St. Mary's.
We put the opposition goal under a lot of pressure early doors, with our better understanding and passing play. Many chances came and went, most of them stopped by the biggest goalie we had ever seen! It was good to see the chances created, though, even if we didn't take full advantage of them. We continued to play well as the half wore on. The few chances Prestwich Heys created were snuffed out by Harry 'Hands' Leach and a disciplined defence. We got the goal we deserved right at the end of the first half, with a screamer from Kyle on the right into the top left corner of the net! 1-0! The shape of the team was lost a little in the second half with a few changes, but we still looked the stronger prospect. The points were wrapped up, again at the end of the half, with a determined tap-in from Kieran after another long-range shot from Kyle. 2-0! It could, and probably should, have been more, but Marauders Falcons go marching on - this result keeps us in the top two with a game in hand on the teams below. Man of the Match: Harry Leach - a difficult choice this week, but Harry deserved it for doing everything right when he needed to. |
